Tai chi is an ancient Chinese exercise that is a physical embodiment of the ideas in Lao-tzu’s (Laozi’s) Tao Te Ching (Daodejing). The smooth movements improve balance and relax the muscles in order to allow freer movement of the fundamental energy Ch’i (qi). The meditative aspect of the practice arises in repetition of familiar movements that calm and clear the mind. Tim Farnum teaches the 37-posture Yang-style short form of tai chi. There is no fee beyond investing time to learn and practice.
