As gun violence in the form of both mass shootings across the country and smaller but still deadly incidents here in Rochester continues to fill our news feeds and our hearts, it can be hard to keep feeling, keep praying, and keep acting. On Sunday, August 18 at 4:00pm, the First Universalist and First Unitarian congregations of Rochester will co-host a special afternoon worship service to mourn recent deaths due to gun violence, and renew our spirits for our ongoing work together. Join worship leaders Rev. Lane Campbell, Rev. Shari Halliday-Quan, Brock Tjosvold, and Thom Snell on Sunday, August 18 at 4:00pm at First Unitarian Church, 220 Winton Road South. This service is part of a national call to action from Live Free USA, a coalition of activists and faith leaders addressing the impact of gun violence and mass incarceration on our communities.
