MUSIC & ARTS
This fall we welcome Pablo Willey-Bustos as our new Music Director!
First Unitarian Choir
Our beloved First Unitarian Choir meets outdoors (weather permitting) or online every other Wednesday night from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM. We’ll work on singing technique, musicianship skills, and work on diverse repertoire of sacred and secular songs from all eras and genres. Singers of all genders and voice parts who are in high school or older are welcome to join—no audition necessary!

Bell Choir
Which musical ensemble combines artistry with athletics, expression with ergonomics, musicianship with muscle (our lightest bell weighs only 2 oz., and our heaviest bell weighs 7 lbs., 2 oz.), and technique with teamwork? Bell Choir! No ringing experience is necessary – the fundamentals of bell ringing will be taught during our weekly rehearsals. A strong sense of rhythm as well as music reading skills in either treble or bass clef are required.

Ukulele for Beginners
Have you been longing to tiptoe through the tulips? Are your thoughts currently somewhere over the rainbow? We are offering a free Ukulele for Beginners course! The uke has risen in popularity lately and is being played by everyone from Hawaiians to hipsters. No instrumental experience or music reading ability is needed to participate. We’ll learn chords, strum patterns, and how to pluck out a melody; you’ll be making music in no time!

First Unitarian Ukulele Orchestra
Inspired by the legendary ukulele orchestras of the world, this fun-loving ensemble plays music in multiple parts and in a wide range of styles. Past selections include the Beatles, Bach, Bossa nova, Celtic, klezmer, and UU hymns. This group is open to advanced beginners, such as those who have taken our Ukulele for Beginners course or are otherwise comfortable playing chords and reading TAB notation. Baritone Uke and bass Uke players are also welcome!
