Who We Are

Congregants share their testimonials

A community rooted in love, shaped by curiosity, and committed to justice.

At First Unitarian Church of Rochester, we are a community of people showing up for something bigger than ourselves.

We come from many different backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences. Some of us believe in God. Some of us don’t. Many of us are still figuring it out.

What brings us together isn’t a shared creed. It’s a shared commitment to love, justice, and the ongoing work of becoming.

A church for seekers, skeptics, and believers alike.

Drawn from many paths and perspectives, we gather as a community shaped not by shared belief, but by shared values. Here, questions are honored, doubt is welcomed, and each person’s journey is respected as part of a larger, unfolding search for truth and meaning.

A community that keeps love at the center of all we are.

A brick wall covered with colorful chalk messages including “Love is love,” “Science is real,” and “Human rights.”

Our faith calls us beyond our walls.

We engage in work for justice, equity, and liberation through advocacy, partnerships, and showing up for what matters.

For us, spirituality isn’t separate from the world.
It’s how we move through it.
