Performing Groups

Adult Choirs (Early & Late Services)

  • The 9:30 Choir sings in our worship service two Sundays each month. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
  • The 11:15 Choir sings in our worship service three Sundays each month. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • The Combined Choir (both the 9:30 & 11:15) sings a choral masterwork twice a year with orchestra, and is planning a few special events this year as well - a Prism Concert with the RIT Choirs, and Ed Schell's 30th Anniversary Gala! Also, "A Cappella" Choirs and other small vocal ensembles are formed occasionally with members of the choir to sing on non-choir Sundays.

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir sings in our worship service about once a month. Children ages 8 to 12 are welcome to join. Rehearsals are held on Sundays between services, 10:35 to 11:10 a.m. For more information contact Debbie McCullough, Associate Music Director, at debbiemc@frontiernet.net or 224-0349.

Clarinet Choir

The Clarinet Choir participates occasionally in our worship services. Rehearsal schedule to be determined. Whether you play the clarinet or used to, dust off your instrument and give it a try! Dance Group

Join us if you are interested in participating in or creating dance or physical theatre. All levels of experience are welcome. If you have ideas for participatory dance events, worship dances, or social justice creations, please share them. Contact Roy Wood at dancmonky@hotmail.com or 254-6514.

Drama Group

The Drama Group welcomes people who are interested in becoming part of the community of performers, artists and organizers who put on our productions. We need people who perform, design & build sets, design & construct costumes, gather and organize props, create and print programs, do publicity, refreshments, tickets, etc. Please contact Lew Ward-Baker at patnlew@rochester.rr.com or 244-6968 if you have any questions. Check out the yearly cabaret put on by the drama group.

Drumming Group

A Drumming Group will be forming in 2008. Experience the rhythm of life! Play drums and other percussion instruments in a group setting, as a spiritual discipline and as a fun musical experience. Playing together is our goal. Opportunities to share our music with the church and elsewhere may also arise. Meeting times to be determined. Guitar Group

The Guitar Group meets periodically to prepare songs for hymn singing. Contact Mary Lyubomirsky at lyubys@rochester.rr.com or 385-1848 if you are interested in joining!

Handbell Choirs (Advanced & Beginner)

  • Handbell Ensembles participate occasionally in our worship services.
  • The Bronze Ringers are an advanced group of experienced ringers, rehearsing on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • The Copper Ringers are open to everyone, regardless of experience or musical background. This group meets on 2nd and 4th Sundays from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.

Reader's Theatre Group

The Reader's Theatre Group is presently gearing up to present V-day Reader's Theatre - A Memory, A Rant, and A Prayer by Eve Ensler. Contact Micky Markert at mmmarke@earthlink.net or 442-3336 for more details.
