It’s about…Everybody Finding a Group!
“Membership is a dynamic process, not a single act.”
Membership at First Unitarian Church is a journey. It starts with an inclusive welcome of all of you who enter our doors. Our Hospitality team consists of greeters, ushers, and welcome table volunteers – all are here to ensure that your worship experience begins on a high note.
I encourage you to continue the journey with orientation sessions which will introduce you to Unitarian Universalism and the ministries of our church.
Once you’ve attended this session, you’ll be ready for Starting Point, a 4-session series offered several times a year, which offers newcomers and new members an opportunity to explore ways in which Unitarian Universalism can make a difference in their lives. It’s a good way to find your place at First Unitarian and connect with others.
Exploring a small group will deepen your connection to others, as well as to the important work of our congregation. We’re here to help you find the right match.
Another step in the journey is to find your passion with us. Which of our ministries offers the best fit for your gifts and talents?
Perhaps your journey will eventually lead you to contemplate membership in First Unitarian Church. If so, I hope you will attend Step to Membership. If you decide to join us, our entire congregation will celebrate with you in our New Member Welcome Ceremony.
Even then, your journey is far from over. We are an ever-changing community that will continue to offer new opportunities to nurture yourself and help heal our world. View some of our social & community building groups.
For those in the Deaf Community, ASL interpretation is provided at many of our 4:30pm Saturday (September – May) contemporary worship services, Sunday at 10:00am (June – August) summer services. We also offer ASL Soul Matters with the intention of promoting our individual spiritual development and honoring each individual’s beliefs, facilitated by a Deaf member of our church and are open to both members and guests who use ASL.
So welcome to the journey! I am so glad you found us!
